What is a Mole?
Moles or nevi usually form in childhood and adolescence. However, new moles may appear in adulthood. Most moles are benign and non-cancerous. However, melanoma can manifest as a new or abruptly changing existing moles. Melanoma can be a form of skin cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, it accounts for only 1% of all skin carcinomas but is responsible for the majority of skin cancer deaths.
What Causes New Moles?
When melanocytes, pigment-producing cells in the skin of a person, multiply or duplicate, a new mole will appear. The pigment that gives moles their unique coloring is found in melanocytes. H Moles Formula can either be benign or potentially cancerous. Genetic mutations can cause cancerous moles such as melanomas. It is not known what causes benign moles.
A new mole could be caused by:
- UV radiation exposure
- Fair Skin
- Genetically predisposed
- A weak immune system
Different Types of Moles
There are four types of moles. Here are the main differences:
Common moles may appear either at birth or in later years of life. Common moles are usually found on areas of skin that are exposed to the sun. Common moles have a symmetrical, round appearance. They have a smooth border and a smooth surface. Common moles measure less than 5 millimetersTrusted source (mm) in size.
Rarely do these moles turn into cancer. People with more than 50 moles could have a greater chance of developing cancer.
Dysplastic nevi or atypical moles can form anywhere on the body. They are usually larger than other types of moles. They can be different in color and texture, and often have an uneven border that blends with the surrounding skin.
These moles often come in multiple colors such as red, pink, and dark brown.
According to the American Cancer Society, some atypical moles can become cancerous. Most atypical moles don’t develop into melanomas.Atypical moles can have similar characteristics to melanoma so it is important to see a dermatologist to ensure that no issues are present.
Congenital moles (or birthmarks) are present at birth. The size of congenital moles can vary greatly, with some very large. These moles are generally benign but if they’re very large or a frequent occurrence, it can increase the risk of getting melanoma.
One study found that the lifetime risk of developing melanoma is between 10% and 15% for people with large congenital moles. These figures can vary from one study to the next.
Although it looks similar to melanoma, this rare mole is not considered cancerous. It is most common in children with fair skin and young people younger than 20 years. Sometimes doctors are unable to tell the difference between melanoma or spitz-nevus. They may recommend that it be removed as a preventive measure.
Spitz nevi are fast-growing and can grow to be as large as a centimeter in diameter. Spitz nevi also have the following characteristics:
- A symmetric, round shape
- smooth surface
- Starburst patterns are characterized by lines of pigment radiating from the surface.
Can Moles Be Treated?
Most moles do not require treatment. You can conceal a mole with makeup if you are self-conscious. You can try either clipping or plucking a hair that is growing from a mole. Keep the mole clean after you have cut it or irritated it. If the mole isn’t healing, see your doctor.
If you are concerned about a mole or notice unusual changes, you might talk to your dermatologist about having it removed surgically. The procedure is quick and usually performed on an outpatient basis. The doctor will numb the area and then remove the mole. If necessary, he may also trim the healthy skin margin. Permanent scarring may occur. Black people are more likely to experience side effects such as permanent scarring and pigmentary changes. You should immediately see your doctor if you notice a mole growing back.
Treatment of Moles
There are many ways to remove a mole. Some of the main removal techniques are:
- Shave excision: The area around the mole has to be numbed. A small blade is used for cutting around and under the mole. This is a common technique for smaller moles. There are no sutures (stitches).
- Excisional surgery (excision biopsy), – The mole and surrounding healthy skin are removed using a scalpel, or a punch tool. Sutures are necessary.
It is possible to remove melanoma using simple surgery if it is caught in its earliest stages. It will be removed along with healthy skin surrounding it, if it is found in the later stages. Further treatment will be required if the cancer has spread to the lymphatic system or bloodstream and created tumors elsewhere in the body.

“Product works great! It worked on a mole on my forehead in about 6 weeks. The skin had thickened and I was told it was a birth mark. But I don’t recall having a birth Mark on my forehead before. Awesome Product! I would definitely recommend it to others”.

“Absolutely phenomenal product! My dog had a mole on her abdomen that was about 4 in and totally gross.
Within 2 weeks of using this product her mole is completely gone and looks like it never even existed. I would say that it was a miracle.
Anne C| Texas
“I had a large, flat mole on my back. I started using H Moles 3x a day. It took almost 4 months-but I only used less then 2 small bottles. It is completely GONE with NO SCAR! If I had used a stronger mole remover that works quickly-there would have been a crater scar. Flat moles need this product. Don’t give up…even if it is taking awhile. You WILL get results. Fabulous product”.
